Add an asset

An asset is one thing you want tested: a web app, an API, a mobile app or a source code repository.

Only admins can add assets. See users and roles.

Add the asset

  1. Go to Assets and choose Add asset.
  2. Choose the Type: Web app, API, iOS app, Android app, GitHub repository or Other.
  3. Enter a Name your team will recognise, such as *Payments API*.
  4. Enter the target: an Address for web apps and APIs, an App identifier or store link for mobile apps, or the Repository as org/repo.
  5. Choose Add asset.
Each asset shows its type and whether ownership is verified.

Verify ownership with DNS

Verification is optional. Zaaf can confirm ownership with you directly, or you can prove it yourself for web apps and APIs with a DNS record.

  1. Open the asset on the Assets page and choose Verify with DNS.
  2. Add the TXT record Countermind shows to the asset's host name. The value looks like countermind-verify=….
  3. Wait for DNS to update, then choose Check now.

If the record isn't found yet, wait a few minutes and check again. Once found, the asset shows DNS verified.
